We note with sorrow the recent death of our neighbor Clem Sansone. Clem and Jeanne's house on Plank Lane was one of the first built in Cumberland Harbour. The following obituary appeared in the November 5th edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
SANSONE, Clement -- Mr. Clement A. Sansone, age 56, of Decatur died Sunday, November 2, 2008. He attended Piedmont College before transferring to the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a BS in psychology. In 1974 he married Jeanne Davis. He first worked for Scottish Rite, then at the Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center where he became director, and then as the CEO of the Northlake Surgery Center until he retired in 2007. Mr. Sansone is survived by his wife, Jeanne Sansone; sons, Brian and John Sansone; parents Clement & Norma Sansone; sister, Gilda DiPasquale; nephew, Kristoffer DiPasquale; sister-in-law, Susan Bennett and her husband David; and nephew, Davis Bennett. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, with Julie Pennington-Russell officiating. Interment will be at Decatur Cemetery. Those desiring may send contributions to the American Cancer Society or to the National Kidney Foundation. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
