Dawn Peterson will lead a class of instruction on how to design and paint a decorative floor cloth. Dawn, a Cumberland Harbour resident, is Professor of Foundations Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The instruction will include preparing the surface of the cloth, design & design transfer and painting & surface finishing. You may be as creative or as traditional with your design ideas as you wish.
What to Bring: (optional) Ideas for examples of colors or designs to use as a reference. If you have a room in mind for the floor cloth you may want to coordinate colors. Some suggestions for this would be objects such as bowls for a kitchen cloth, beach towels or lawn furniture for a porch cloth, or a hand towel for a bathroom cloth. These can also be hung as a painting.
Contact: Please e-mail Dawn Peterson with questions or to indicate you will be attending. E-mail: dpeterso@scad.edu. Please let Dawn know by July 1st so materials can be purchased. Send a check to Dawn Peterson for $60.00 to: PO Box 5280, St. Marys, GA 31558.
